HOUSTON, Sept. 25 (UPI) -- Daryle Ward homered twice and pinch-hitter Morgan Ensberg snapped a tie with an RBI single in the fifth inning Wednesday night as the Houston Astros rallied for a 7-5 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers.
Ward registered his first multi-homer game of the season and second of his career with a pair of two-run homers. Ward last homered twice on April 10, 2000 against St. Louis.
Milwaukee reliever Valerio De Los Santos (2-3) entered with a 5-3 lead to begin the fifth and issued a walk to Jeff Bagwell before Ward belted his second homer of the contest to tie the game.
De Los Santos retired the next two hitters, but Raul Chavez doubled. Ensberg greeted Jose Cabrera with a single to give the Astros their first lead.
Jose Vizcaino added an RBI single in the eighth for the final margin.
Houston starter Peter Munro allowed four runs and seven hits in two-plus innings but was picked up by his bullpen.
Nelson Cruz (2-6) allowed one run and two hits in one inning and four other relievers combined for six hitless frames. Closer Billy Wagner struck out a pair in the ninth for his 35th save in 42 chances.
Milwaukee shortstop Jose Hernandez went one for four with an RBI double and did not strike out. Hernandez, who did not face a two-strike count, remained one strikeout shy of Bobby Bonds' 1970 major league record of 189.
