Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

ST. LOUIS, Sept. 25 (UPI) -- The St. Louis Rams Wednesday signed special teams standout O.J. Brigance and released defensive end John Burrough.
Brigance played in eight regular-season games and all three postseason contests for the Rams last season. He had 12 special teams tackles during the regular season and led the team with seven tackles in the postseason.
With starting outside linebacker Tommy Polley sidelined for the next three weeks by a groin injury, Brigance likely will serve as a backup at outside linebacker behind starters Don Davis and rookie Robert Thomas.
Burrough was signed as a free agent in the offseason, but played in just one game with the Rams. He had one tackle in the season-opening loss at Denver.
