AUBURN, Ala., Sept. 14 (UPI) -- Carnell Williams rushed for 170 yards and two touchdowns Saturday as Auburn won its 10th straight Southeastern Conference opener, 31-6, over Vanderbilt.

Williams, who has rushed for 183 yards and four touchdowns in the first quarter this season, added a career long 65-yard run to make it 24-6 in the third quarter. He has five touchdowns in Auburn's first three games, all coming on rushes of 20 yards or more.

The Tigers first got on the board after Vanderbilt (1-2, 0-1 SEC East) fumbled deep in its own territory, allowing Karlos Dansby to run seven yards for a score. The Commodores turned the ball over four times, including two fumbles that resulted in Auburn touchdowns. It was the first time the Auburn defense had scored two touchdowns in a game since 1994.

Auburn's Daniel Cobb connected on 13 of 18 passes for 143 yards.

Vanderbilt's Jay Cutler completed 11 of 22 for 120 yards, but was intercepted twice and did not find the end zone after contributing to five touchdowns last week in a blowout of Furman.

Greg Johnson accounted for all of Vanderbilt's offense with two field goals.

Auburn (2-1, 1-0 SEC West), which has not surrendered a touchdown in its last two games, defeated the Commodores for the 11th straight time.
