Central Mich. 32, Wyoming 20

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich., Sept. 7 (UPI) -- Derrick Vickers completed a school-record 28 passes for a career-high 361 yards and two touchdowns Saturday as Central Michigan defeated Wyoming, 32-20.

Central Michigan jumped to an early 10-0 lead on Robbie Mixon's four-yard touchdown run and a 40-yard field goal by Mike Gruzwalski, who added three more to tie a school record.

Mixon rushed for 156 yards and a touchdown for Central Michigan, which is 2-0 for the first time since 1986. Wyoming fell to 0-2.

The Cowboys rallied to take a 13-10 lead as Casey Bramlet threw a 17-yard touchdown pass to Scott Vines in the first quarter and a 29-yarder to Brock Ralph in the second.

Gruzwalski added a second field goal for Central Michigan to knot the score at 13-13 at halftime. He made two field goals in the third quarter.

Vickers, who completed 28 of 39 passes to nine different receivers, found Tory Humphrey late in the third quarter to give Central Michigan a 26-13 lead.

Bramlet answered again on the next play, throwing a 67-yard pass to Malcom Floyd that cut Central Michigan's lead to six. Bramlet was 20 of 36 for 290 yards and three touchdowns.

The Chippewas controlled the ball for 11:47 of the fourth quarter, putting the game away on a four-yard pass from Vickers to Humphrey.
