CHICAGO, Aug. 26 (UPI) -- Chicago White Sox infielder Tony Graffanino will miss the rest of the season and will require surgery to repair a torn right ACL, the team announced Monday.

Graffanino was injured in Sunday's 8-3 victory over Tampa Bay when he caught a cleat in the turf while tracking down an errant throw. He said he expects to be sidelined four to six months.

Graffanino, 30, batted .262 with six home runs and 31 RBI in 70 games. He already has been placed on the 15-day disabled list, and the White Sox recalled infielder D'Angelo Jimenez from Class AAA Charlotte to fill the roster spot.
