Rangers re-sign Lyashenko

NEW YORK, Aug. 14 (UPI) -- The New York Rangers on Wednesday re-signed restricted free agent center Roman Lyashenko, who was acquired with Martin Rucinsky in the trade that sent center Manny Malhotra to the Dallas Stars.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Lyashenko played in a combined 19 games for Dallas and New York last season, registering both his goals with the Rangers. He also spent parts of last season with the Utah Grizzlies and Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League.

The Russian native has recorded 14 goals and nine assists in 137 career games for the Stars and Rangers.
