Bulls ink Roger Mason, Jr.

CHICAGO, Aug. 14 (UPI) -- The Chicago Bulls have signed shooting guard Roger Mason, Jr., their second-round pick in this year's draft, 31st overall.

The 6-5, 200-pounder was drafted by the Bulls after after three seasons at the University of Virginia, where he averaged 13.8 points per contest, as well as 3.0 rebounds and 2.6 assists. He shot .436 from the floor, .375 from three-point range, and .869 from the free throw line, which was the highest average in school history. As a junior last season, he averaged 18.6 points, 4.1 assists, and 3.2 rebounds on the way to earning Second Team All-ACC honors.

The Silver Spring, Md., native played with the Bulls' summer league team this year. In four games, he averaged 6.5 points for Rocky Mountain Revue. He shot 34.8 percent from the floor, 44.4 percent from three-point range and 85.7 from the free throw line in 18.3 minutes per contest.
