DENVER, Aug. 8 (UPI) -- The Denver Nuggets continued to add to their frontcourt depth Thursday, signing center Mark Blount to a one-year

contract.

Financial terms were not disclosed, but the Denver Post reported that Blount will receive $788,000.

"We're excited to add another solid big man like Mark," Nuggets General Manager Kiki Vandeweghe said.

Vandeweghe acquired oft-injured center Marcus Camby from the New York Knicks in a draft day deal for Antonio McDyess, added

Nikoloz Tskitishvili, a 7-footer from the Republic of GeorgiH and Brazilian forward Maybyner "Nene" Hilario in the draft, and obtained forward-center Don Reid from the Orlando Magic.

The 7-foot Blount appeared in 44 games for the Boston Celtics

last season and averaged 2.1 points and 1.9 rebounds in 9.4

minutes.

As a rookie in 2000-01, Blount averaged 3.9 points and 3.6

rebounds in 64 games for the Celtics. He started 50 games and

led the team with 76 blocked shots.
