Greg Biffle wins Busch race

CLERMONT, Ind., Aug. 3 (UPI) -- Pole-sitter Greg Biffle held off a charge by Jason Keller over the final laps Saturday night to win the NASCAR Busch Grand National series Kroger 200 at Indianapolis Raceway Park.

During a caution period with 30 laps remaining, Biffle and Keller made pit stops to take fresh tires on their Ford Tauruses while rookie Scott Riggs' crew decided to keep him out in the lead on worn tires.

Riggs, who led 93 of 200 laps, maintained the top spot for a few more laps until Biffle and Keller made their way to the front after coming out sixth and seventh, respectively. With 10 laps to run, Biffle overtook Riggs and went on to his fourth checkered flag of the year.

Biffle has finished in the top three in 10 of his last 13 races. He stretched his lead over Keller atop the series standings to 82 points.

Keller also got past Riggs and Scott Wimmer for second before making a run at Biffle over the final sprint. Despite several attempts to pass low, he settled for runner-up and his 13th top-five finish of the season.
