MONTREAL, Aug. 1 (UPI) -- Vladimir Guerrero ended Curt Schilling's bid for a 19th victory with a one-out homer in the ninth inning Thursday night that lifted the Montreal Expos to a 2-1 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Schilling (18-4) gave up a second-inning run but had a relatively easy time thereafter until Guerrero lined his first pitch over the left-field wall for his 28th homer.

Guerrero's second game-winning in the three-game series ended Schilling's six-game winning streak and marked his first loss to a National League foe since April 17th.
Tomo Ohka matched the Diamondbacks' ace over eight innings but gave way to Joey Eischen (3-1) in the ninth.
