Police Chief William Dwyer said Coleman was alone in his 2003 Land Rover and driving 100 mph in a 70 mph zone. He said Coleman refused to take a Breathalyzer test but officers said they "detected the odor of intoxicants" on his breath.

Coleman allegedly told police he had been drinking champagne.

He was released on $150 bond after submitting to a court-ordered blood test and his car was impounded.
