Tigers place Cruz on DL

DETROIT, June 29 (UPI) -- The Detroit Tigers placed outfielder Jacob Cruz back on the disabled list Saturday with bone chips in his left elbow.

Cruz was placed on the 15-day DL, retroactive to Sunday after being sidelined from June 1-18 with right knee inflammation. In 35 games for the Tigers, Cruz is hitting .273 with two homers and six RBI.

Righthander Oscar Henriquez was recalled from Class AAA Toledo to replace Cruz on the roster. Henriquez led the International League with 17 saves and was 2-1 with a 3.31 ERA and 39 strikeouts in 33 appearances.
