McEachern traded to Thrashers

ATLANTA, June 29 (UPI) -- The Atlanta Thrashers on Saturday acquired left wing Shawn McEachern and a sixth-round draft pick in 2004 from the Ottawa Senators for defenseman Brian Pothier.

The 33-year-old McEachern had 15 goals and 31 assists for Ottawa last season. In his six seasons with the team, he scored 142 goals and totaled 304 points in 454 games.

Pothier, 25, signed with the Thrashers as a free agent in 2000 and debuted the following season, playing just three games without recording a point. He scored three goals and had nine points in 36 games last season.
