Lions ink free agent CB Eric Davis

DETROIT, June 28 (UPI) -- Veteran cornerback Eric Davis Friday joined his fourth NFL team when he signed with the Detroit Lions.

Davis was a second-round draft pick by San Francisco in 1990. He played six seasons with the 49ers, five with the Carolina Panthers and one with the Denver Broncos. In 175 career games, he has 626 tackles and 37 interceptions.

Davis played in all 16 games for the Broncos last season, mostly on special teams. He had 25 interceptions during his tenure in Carolina, a franchise record.

The Lions also signed safety Kourtney Young, as a rookie free agent out of Eastern Illinois.
