Minnesota 5, Milwaukee 2

MILWAUKEE, June 15 (UPI) -- Eric Milton struck out a season-high eight and helped himself at the plate with two hits and an RBI Saturday night, lifting the Minnesota Twins to a 5-2 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers.

Milton (8-5) allowed two runs and five hits in eight innings for his first win since May 26. The lefthander retired the first nine Brewers and did not allow a batter past first base until Richie Sexson's two-out home run in the seventh inning.

Closer Eddie Guardado made it interesting in the ninth, allowing two hits before recording his 19th save.

Milwaukee starter Jamey Wright (1-4) surrendered five runs and eight hits in six innings. He walked three and struck out five.

Bobby Kielty drove in two runs and Torii Hunter scored twice for the Twins, who snapped a three-game losing streak.

Minnesota's A.J. Pierzynski went none for three, ending his career-high hitting streak at 16 games.
