ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., June 2 (UPI) -- Greg Myers homered and John Mabry had an RBI double Sunday as the Oakland Athletics continued their domination of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, 4-2.
Mark Mulder won back-to-back starts for the first time since his initial two outings of the season and received plenty of help from the bullpen. Mulder, who missed close to a month with a forearm injury, allowed two runs and six hits in 5 2/3 innings with two walks and five strikeouts.
Four relievers followed and threw 3 1/3 scoreless innings with Billy Koch working the ninth for his 11th save.
Paul Hoover had a two-run single in the seventh for the Devil Rays, who have lost 10 of their last 11 games to Oakland, dating to last season.
Myers opened the scoring with a one-out homer to right field in the fifth off Ryan Rupe (5-6).
The Athletics two more runs in the sixth. Miguel Tejada singled and went to second on a wild pitch before Rupe walked Jermaine Dye and Eric Chavez to load the bases. Adam Piatt hit a sacrifice fly to center and Mabry lined an RBI double to left field to make it 3-0.
Tampa Bay answered with two runs in their half of the sixth. Singles by Greg Vaughn, Steve Cox and Randy Winn loaded the bases before Hoover delivered a two-out two run single.
Dye added a run-scoring single in the seventh. Rupe (5-6) allowed three runs and four hits in six innings.
