Lucas suspended, Cavs fined

NEW YORK, May 28 (UPI) -- The NBA on Tuesday fined the Cleveland Cavaliers $150,000 and suspended coach John Lucas for the first two games of next season for allowing high school phenom LeBron James to participate in a scrimmage.

Wednesday, the Cavaliers held a workout at their practice facility with some of their players and others who were not eligible to participate. Among them was James, the Ohio high school junior who generally is considered the top pick in the 2003 NBA draft.
