CLEVELAND, May 27 (UPI) -- Mark Redman pitched a four-hitter Monday for his second straight complete game against the Cleveland Indians and Damian Jackson hit a two-run homer to lead the Detroit Tigers to a 4-1 victory.
After dropping his first five decisions this season, Redman found success six days ago against the Indians when he threw a 10-hitter in going the distance.
Monday, Redman (2-5) had his way again, allowing a solo homer to Ellis Burks and three singles and not allowing a runner to reach second base. The lefthander walked one and struck out three, throwing 120 pitches.
Jackson helped provide some offensive support, hitting his first homer in the fifth inning of Danys Baez to give the Tigers a 4-1 lead.
Baez (4-4) went six innings, surrendering four runs and seven hits with four walks and six strikeouts.
