Tway has third round lead at Memorial

DUBLIN, Ohio, May 25 (UPI) -- Bob Tway, winless in more than six years, fired a 4-under-par 68 on Saturday and has a one shot lead after the third round of the Memorial.

A former PGA Championship winner and the 1989 champion here, Tway has struggled in recent years and has not been victorious on the PGA Tour since capturing the MCI Classic in 1995.

But Tway -- the leader after Thursday's first round -- recovered from a sub-par second round to play bogey-free at the Muirfield Village Golf Club, sprinkling four birdies along the way.

Tway is at 12-under 204, one shot ahead of Stewart Cink and two in front of Justin Leonard, who entered the day tied for the lead with former college teammate Harrison Frazar, who struggled to a 3-over 75.

Tiger Woods is not expected to become the first player in 75 years to win the same tournament in four consecutive seasons since he is 12 shots off the pace after shooting par on Saturday.
