Cleveland 5, Toronto 2

TORONTO, May 24 (UPI) -- Rookie righthander Ryan Drese allowed one run and seven hits over 6 2/3 innings as the Cleveland Indians snapped a four-game losing streak Friday night with a 5-2 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays.

Drese (5-3), who walked four and struck out five, stretched his personal winning streak to three games with second straight strong outing. He yielded one run and a season-low four hits over eight innings on Saturday, but did not get a decison in the Indians' 4-1 loss to Kansas City.

The Indians staked Drese to an early lead with a pair of runs in the top of the first. Matt Lawton led off with a walk and scored on a triple by Omar Vizquel, who came home on Ellis Burks' groundout.

Cleveland knocked out rookie Justin Miller (3-2) with three runs in the fourth, opening a 5-0 lead. Vizquel had an sacrifice fly and Burks and Jim Thome delivered RBI singles.

Drese blanked the Blue Jays until giving up back-to-back doubles to Shannon Stewart and Eric Hinske in the fifth.
