Texas at Kansas City postponed by rain

KANSAS CITY, Mo., May 23 (UPI) -- Thursday's game between the Texas Rangers and Kansas City Royals was posptponed by rain.

The contest will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Sunday at 1:05 p.m. EDT. Pitching matchups for the remainder of the series have not been announced.

The Rangers are 2-6 on a season-high 12-game road trip entering the four-game series against the Royals. Texas is 26-14 against Kansas City over the past four seasons, including an 11-8 record in games played at Kauffman Stadium.

The Royals have lost three straight games and are returning home after a 3-4 road trip.
