The Dodgers benefited from some good fortune in the third. Adrian Beltre struck out but reached on a wild pitch by Milwaukee starter Ben Sheets (3-4). Green followed with his triple to put Los Angeles ahead.

Omar Daal pitched 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief and Paul Quantrill was credited with a pair of outs. Closer Eric Gagne struck out Richie Sexson and Geoff Jenkins to cap a perfect ninth for his 15th save.
