NEW YORK, May 1 (UPI) -- Charlotte Hornets center Jamaal Magloire was suspended for one game Wednesday and fined $7,500 for a flagrant foul against Orlando's Tracy McGrady.
Magloire was assessed a flagrant-2 foul and ejected for hitting McGrady in the head with 5 1/2 minutes remaining in the Hornets' series-clinching 102-85 victory over the Magic in Game Four on Tuesday night.
Magloire will miss Game One of the Hornets' second-round series against either Indiana or New Jersey.
A backup to Elden Campbell, Magloire played well in the series against Orlando, averaging 12.5 points and 4.0 rebounds in just over 23 minutes per contest. He scored a playoff career-high 19 points in Tuesday's win.
Players are allowed three flagrant foul points in the postseason before automatic suspensions begin.
