Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24
NEW YORK, April 22 (UPI) -- Boston Red Sox outfielder Manny Ramirez, who hit four homers and drove in 10 runs, Monday was named American League Player of the Week.
Ramirez hit .500 (11-for-22) with a double and scored nine times last week for the Red Sox, who won all six of their games.
New York Yankees second baseman Alfonso Soriano was the runner-up for the award after batting .438 with a league-high 25 total bases.
