HOUSTON, April 21 (UPI) -- Dave Mlicki allowed one hit over eight innings and Richard Hidalgo finished a home run shy of the cycle Sunday to give the Houston Astros a 4-0 win over the San Francisco Giants.

It was San Francisco's first loss ever at Astros Field.

Mlicki, who threw 92 pitches, was brilliant before being lifted for a pinch hitter in the eighth inning. After allowing a two-out single to J.T. Snow in the second, Mlicki (2-2) retired the final 19 batters he faced. He struck out three without a walk.

Hidalgo, who was stranded at third base after leading off the bottom of the second with a triple, had an RBI single in the third and doubled and scored a run in the sixth. In his final at bat in the seventh, Hidalgo grounded into a double play.

Astros second baseman Craig Biggio hit for the cycle April 8 in Colorado.

Jeff Bagwell supplied Mlicki with all the offense he needed, hitting his 352nd career homer in the bottom of the first. Bagwell moved into 60th place on the all-time list, passing Dick Allen.
