HOUSTON, April 19 (UPI) -- Livan Hernandez allowed a pair of solo homers over seven innings Friday night as the San Francisco Giants recorded a 3-2 victory over the Houston Astros.
Hernandez (4-0) walked four and struck out four as he improved to 6-3 lifetime against the Astros. The veteran righthander allowed a leadoff homer to Lance Berkman in the second inning and a one-out blast to Richard Hidalgo in the seventh. The win was the Giants 10th in as many games at Astros Field since the park opened in 2000.
Houston starter Shane Reynolds (2-2) allowed three runs and nine hits in eight innings. But Reynolds allowed a two-out, two-run double to Reggie Sanders in the fifth that put San Francisco ahead for good.
Robb Nen struck out the side in order in the ninth for his fourth save.
