Chicago White Sox 4, Baltimore 3

CHICAGO, April 13 (UPI) -- First baseman Paul Konerko knocked in the eventual game-winner Saturday with an RBI single and Jose Valentin homered as the Chicago White Sox rallied for their fourth consecutive victory, 4-3 over the Baltimore Orioles.

Konerko had recorded eight career home runs against Baltimore, the most against any team. But since hitting in six straight games to open the season, he was mired in an 0-for-16 slump until breaking out in the bottom of the eighth.

Chicago took advantage of two throwing errors by Baltimore second baseman Melvin Mora, which allowed Kenny Lofton to knot the contest at 3-3. Konerko then drove home the go-ahead run with a one-out single as the White Sox recorded consecutive victories to open their home campaign for the first time since moving into the new Comiskey Park in 1991.

Reliever Antonio Osuna (2-0) pitched a scoreless eighth to pick up the win.
