Baltimore 15, Tampa Bay 6

BALTIMORE, April 11 (UPI) -- The Baltimore Orioles scored a club-record 12 runs in the sixth inning Thursday night to stop a six-game losing streak with a 15-6 victory over the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

Mike Bordick drove in three runs and Jay Gibbons and David Segui each added a pair of RBI in the decisive inning for the Orioles.

Baltimore also set a club record with 11 hits in the frame, sending 16 batters to the plate.

Earlier in the week, manager Mike Hargrove predicted the Orioles would break out of their offensive slump. altimore had scored just six runs during its losing streak since a 10-3 victory over the New York Yankees on Opening Day.

In the sixth, the Devil Rays used four pitchers. Jesus Colome was the main culprit, retiring just one batter while allowing seven runs and six hits.

Rodrigo Lopez (1-0) worked four perfect innings in relief of starter Sidney Ponson for his first caeer win. The righthander struck out four, throwing 30 of his 47 pitches for strikes.
