Boston 11, Texas 8

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla., March 26 (UPI) -- Carlos Baerga continued to enchance his chances at garnering a roster spot Tuesday as he belted a two-run homer to lead the Boston Red Sox to an 11-8 victory over the Texas Rangers.

Out of baseball last season, Baerga is attempting to make the Red Sox in a utility role. The three-time All-Star belted his first spring homer in the eighth and is batting .400 in 22 games.
