PEORIA, Ariz., March 20 (UPI) -- Tim Salmon and Adam Kennedy homered and Aaron Sele pitched five strong innings as the Anaheim Angels

routed the San Diego Padres, 11-2, in Cactus League play Tuesday.

Salmon also had a double, two RBI and two runs scored for the Angels, who pounded San Diego pitching for 12 hits. Ben Molina was the only other Anaheim player with two hits.

Sele allowed one run and three hits over five innings, striking out two. Five Angels relievers combined to give up just one run on four hits. Sele also got into the act offensively, going 1-for-2 and scoring a run.

Bubba Trammell provided San Diego with its only offense, belting a solo home run off Sele in the fifth.

Losing pitcher Brian Tollberg was touched for six runs on seven hits in three innings.
