Kansas City 14, Detroit 2

DAVENPORT, Fla., March 16 (UPI) -- Raul Ibanez and Kit Pellow each homered and had three hits Saturday as the Kansas City Royals scored in all but one inning en route to a 14-2 rout of the Detroit Tigers.

The Royals scored seven runs in the first four innings against Tigers starter Nate Cornejo (0-3). Ibanez hit his second homer of the spring to highlight a three-run fourth inning and reached base in all four of his at bats.

Pellow singled twice, belted a solo homer in the seventh inning and scored twice.

Mike Sweeney was two for four with two RBI and has driven in 11 runs in his last 14 plate appearances.

Blake Stein (1-0), who became the first Royals starter to pitch five innings this spring, allowed one run, five hits and a walk. He recorded three strikeouts.
