Tommie Harris' wife dies

WINTER HAVEN, Fla., March 15 (UPI) -- Carl Pavano pitched five perfect innings and Scott Hodges collected three RBI Friday as the Montreal Expos blanked the Cleveland Indians, 6-0.
Pavano retired all 15 batters he faced, striking out three en route to the win. Scott Stewart, Guillermo Mota and T.J. Tucker finished the combined four-hitter.
Hodges spelled newcomer Chris Truby at third base and tripled to highlight a three-run eighth inning. Acquired from Houston on Wednesday, Truby went none for two with an RBI.
Danys Baez took the loss, giving up two runs and four hits over five innings.
The Indians announced Friday that catcher Eddie Taubensee will be sidelined at least two months with two degenerative discs in his lower back.
