PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla., March 14 (UPI) -- Dave Burba tossed four scoreless innings and Kevin Mench hit his fifth homer of the spring Thursday as the Texas Rangers posted a 6-2 Grapefruit League triumph over the Toronto Blue Jays.

Burba had his best outing of the spring, allowing four hits and a walk. He struck out two before giving way to Rudy Seanez, who retired all six batters he faced.

Mench, a 24-year-old outfielder, has been making the most of his opportunities, homering five times in driving in 13 runs in 36 at bats.

Fellow outfielder Rusty Greer went 3-for-3, including his first homer of the spring.

Promising rookie Hank Blalock had two hits for the Rangers, who had 12 hits, five for extra bases.

Toronto starter Brandon Lyon allowed three runs and five hits in four innings.

Josh Phelps continued to produced for the Blue Jays, homering in his only at bat. Vernon Wells homered for Toronto's other run.
