ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., March 6 (UPI) -- Donnie Sadler had a run-scoring double to highlight a three-run ninth inning Wednesday as the Kansas City Royals rallied for a 7-5 victory over the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

Sadler tied the game with a double off loser Doug Creek before the Royals went ahead on a fielder's choice grounder by Dave McCarty. Mike Sweeney capped the frame with his second sacrifice fly of the game.

Roberto Hernandez pitched a scoreless eighth for the win and Cory Bailey worked the ninth for the save.

The Devil Rays did all their scoring in the first off Paul Byrd, who allowed a three-run homer to Steve Cox and a solo homer by Randy Winn.

Neifi Perez and Raul Ibanez hit solo homers for the Royals in the first and second innings, respectively.
