Washington 3, Ottawa 2 (OT)

OTTAWA, March 2 (UPI) -- Jaromir Jagr scored his second goal of the game 1:53 into overtime Saturday night as the Washington Capitals edged the Ottawa Senators, 3-2, for their fourth win in five games.

During a scramble, Ottawa's Todd White tried twice to clear the puck behind his own net. But Jagr got it, spun and whipped a shot between goaltender Patrick Lalime's pads for his 22nd goal of the season and third game-winner.

Jagr has four goals and four assists during a four-game points streak, helping Washington go 5-1-1 in its last seven contests.

Andrei Nikolishin also scored for the Capitals, who remained three points behind the New York Rangers for the final Eastern Conference playoff spot.

Marian Hossa remained hot, scoring in the final minute of the first period to put Ottawa in front. But the Senators had a three-game winning streak snapped.
