Ottawa 3, NY Rangers 0

NEW YORK, Feb. 28 (UPI) -- Radek Bonk scored his 19th and 20th goals and Marian Hossa collected three assists in support of Patrick Lalime as the Ottawa Senators blanked the New York Rangers, 3-0, for their third straight win.

Both Bonk and Hossa extended their points streaks to four games. Bonk scored the only goal Lalime needed on the power play in the first period and capped the scoring in the third, reaching the 20-goal mark for the third straight season.

Hossa set up both of Bonk's tallies and had a hand in Todd White's second-period goal en route to his fourth game this season with at least three points.

Lalime stopped 34 shots for his fifth shutout of the season. He was at his best early in the second period when he produced a handful of key saves to protect a 1-0 lead.

Mike Richter made 28 saves for the Rangers, who have lost three straight and learned before the game that captain Mark Messier will undergo surgery on his ailing left shoulder Friday that will sideline him at least a month.
