Oakland 16, Milwaukee 13

PHOENIX, Feb. 28 (UPI) -- Cody McKay's bases-clearing double highlighted an eight-run uprising in the top of the sixth inning Thursday as the Oakland Athletics outslugged the Milwaukee Brewers, 16-13.

Oakland trailed, 7-2, after the fourth inning, but scored four runs in the fifth before breaking it open in the sixth.

The teams combined for 37 hits and the Brewers used 10 pitchers in the slugfest.

Olmedo Saenz went two for three with three RBI for the Athletics while Eric Byrnes belted a two-run homer off Ray King in the fifth.

Alex Ochoa was three for three with a three-run homer in the fourth for Milwaukee, which banged out 22 hits. Jose Hernandez had a solo shot in the second for the Brewers.

Micah Bowie tossed a scoreless innings to record the victory. Jayson Durocher took the loss, yielding one and three hits in the sixth.

Milwaukee starter Glendon Rusch tossed two perfect innings. Oakland starter Mike Fyhrie gave up two runs and four hits over 1 1/3 innings.
