Philadelphia 82, Miami 72

PHILADELPHIA, Feb. 27 (UPI) -- Allen Iverson scored 31 points Wednesday night before leaving with an apparent bruised left thigh as the Philadelphia 76ers battled their way to an 82-72 triumph over the Miami Heat.

Iverson scored 10 of Philadelphia's 19 points in the fourth quarter. But with just over a minute to go and the 76ers holding a 78-72 lead, he collided with Heat guard Eddie Jones as he delivered a pass to Matt Harpring and went down holding his left knee.

Iverson stayed down for about a minute before leaving the court under his own power. He underwent x-rays after the game.

The Sixers used a huge advantage at the free-throw line to beat the Heat for the sixth time in the last seven meetings. They shot 46 free throws, making 27, while the Heat was just 11 of 16.

In the fourth quarter, Philadelphia was 13 of 18 from the line while Miami did not attempt a free throw. Heat coach Pat Riley was hit with a technical foul with 2:57 to play.
