Mets get Davis from Rockies

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla., Feb. 21 (UPI) -- The New York Mets acquired Kane Davis from the Colorado Rockies Thursday for minor leaguer Corey Brittan in a trade of righthanders.

Kane was 2-4 with a 4.35 ERA in in 57 games with the Rockies last season. The 26-year-old pitched 68 1/3 innings and struck out 47.

In two major league seasons, Davis is 2-7 with a 5.83 ERA in 65 games. He split the 2000 season with the Cleveland Indians and the Milwaukee Brewers.

Brittan, who turns 27 on Saturday, pitched for Norfolk of the Class AAA International League last season and was 4-2 with four saves and a 1.98 ERA in 58 games.
