BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Feb. 15 (UPI) -- Georgia forward Chris Daniels
was the later player to be disciplined for his role in a fight-filled loss to Auburn last Saturday.
The Southeastern Conference on Friday suspended Daniels for the first half of Saturday's game with ninth-ranked Kentucky.
Upon further review of game tapes, the SEC suspended Daniels for a "flagrant, unsportsmanlike act" in the first half of the 75-72 loss at Auburn.
Daniels averages 12.1 points and a team-best 8.2 rebounds per game for the 22nd-ranked Bulldogs (18-7).
Georgia's Steve Thomas and Auburn's Kyle Davis served one-game suspensions earlier this week for their roles in the fight.
With 2:01 left in the game, the two centers were ejected after getting involved in an incident near the Tigers' bench. Video
replays showed Davis punched Thomas in the back of the head before Thomas chased Davis to the Auburn bench.
Georgia Coach Jim Harrick said after the game that Thomas did not throw a punch, but Kramer confirmed the suspension for both
players after watching video replays of the incident for the first time on Monday.
Harrick declined comment on Friday after being told of the ruling.
