Anaheim 3; Calgary 2

ANAHEIM, Calif., Feb. 14 (UPI) -- Pavel Trinka and Andy McDonald sparked the Mighty Ducks with third-period goals as Anaheim dominated the final 20 minutes Wednesday night on the way to a 3-2 victory over the Calgary Flames.

As the second period was drawing to close, Calgary defenseman Igor Kravchuk cross-checked Patrick Kjellberg, who fell forward into the crossbar and started bleeding. When the third period began, the Ducks came out firing and it took them just 89 seconds to tie the game, 2-2.

Trinka rifled a wrist shot that went under the crossbar and beat Flames goaltender Roman Turek. It was his first goal in 31 games and eighth in 278 career games.

The Ducks took the lead on a perfectly executed odd-man rush by McDonald with 17:04 left.

Following McDonald's marker, the Ducks defense took over. Calgary had just four shots in the third period and went 10 minutes without a shot.

Matt Cullen scored his 15th goal of the season for Anaheim, which beat Turek for the first time. Turek is 7-1-3 against the Ducks.

Jarome Iginla scored his NHL-leading 35th goal in the first period and Steve Begin made it 2-1 for Calgary, which dropped to 13-1-3-2 when leading after two periods.
