Olympic Medal -- M 5,000m Speed Skating

SALT LAKE CITY, Feb. 9 (UPI) -- Jochem Uytdehaage of the Netherlands turned in the second world record of the day Saturday to claim the Olympic gold medal in men's 5,000-meter speed skating. American Derek Parra, who bested his previous best by 15 seconds and briefly held the world record in his first Olympic race, captured the silver. The bronze went to Jens Boden of Germany.
