They will face Ellis Ferreira of South Africa and American Rick Leach in the final.

The Czechs reached the finals in two events last year. They lost to Paes and Bhupathi in the French Open championship.

"Of course, we were more confident after beating Leander and Mahesh at home," said Pala, who won a doubles title with David Rikl at St. Poelten, Austria last year. "We had nothing to lose

today, too, and played well from the beginning to end."
