Super Bowl XXXVI -- Quotebook

By United Press International

Quotes from Super Bowl XXXVI:

St. Louis Rams defensive end Grant Wistrom on his appearance -- "I mainly don't feel like shaving too much. I've always had short hair, so I decided to grow it out and see what it looked like. It wasn't really a conscious decision. It just kind of happened. It's probably not the most attractive thing in the world, but neither am I."

Rams president of football operations Jay Zygmunt regarding comments that his club "got lucky" with finds such as quarterback Kurt Warner -- "Absolutely. We've been incredibly lucky. We've been very fortunate, and we're very thankful for our good fortune. But I could also tell you for a while in the `90s, we had our fair share of bad luck, too."

Rams wide receiver Ricky Proehl on how this trip to the Super Bowl is different than the club's last one in 1999 -- "We're so focused. All year we expected to be here. Everybody isn't in awe this year. Two years ago we were in awe. We were so excited to be here in the hype. Now we're confident. Focused. Guys are excited to play in a second Super Bowl and get a second world championship."

Rams safety Kim Herring on his team being a dynasty -- "Dynasty? Don't you have to win two in a row to be called a dynasty? If winning two out of three is what you call a dynasty, then I guess that this is the closest you can really get to it."

Rams linebacker London Fletcher on if his club could take advantage of New England quarterback Tom Brady's youth and inexperience -- "No, not at all. It's the same game once the ball is kicked off. There's a lot of tension in a Super Bowl, but having played in this game before, I'm here to tell you it's not a different type of game. The Super Bowl is just the name of the game. It's still the game of football."

Patriots quarterback Drew Bledose on whether it has crossed his mind that his future might not be in New England -- "My future right now is one game. In my football career right now that's the way I'm approaching it, that right now there's one game and it's the only game that has any importance. What happens after that, we'll see."

Patriots defensive tackle Richard Seymour on if he's hungry to get to Warner -- "Oh, definitely. That's a challenge to me, to get pressure on Warner. They do a great job of protecting him because that's their bread and butter. That's their playmaker. He distributes the ball out. If we can get to him, the distributor, then everyone else won't get it. So that's the challenge for us, and we accept it."

Patriots safety Lawyer Milloy on where he got his name -- "It is from my grandfather's side, my dad's side. I'm proud to have the name. I never had a chance to meet him. He passed away before I was born, but I'm carrying on his name in a proud way. I've had some people in the Boston area tell me they named their kids after me. I'm very honored with that."

Patriots center Damien Woody on what he imagines it will feel like standing in the tunnel before the game -- "Butterflies out of this world. I've never been in anything like this. It is unreal."

Patriots linebacker Tedy Bruschi on free agent signings being the key for his club's success this season -- "Yeah, because you can bring in the wrong people. You can bring in the piece that won't fit. Then all of a sudden you are 7-9. But they brought in pieces that really fit, gelled right off the bat. I think by the fifth or sixth week we really had something going."
