Financial terms were not disclosed.

The Bruins went 7-4, winning their first six games before losing their next four and rallying for a 52-42 win over Arizona State.

"I am anxious about the future and anxious to get the season under way," Toledo said. "We have a great nucleus of players in our program."

Toledo is 37-27 in six seasons at UCLA. He has taken the Bruins to three bowl games and captured a Pac-10 title in 1998.

Before replacing Terry Donahue at the start of the 1996 season, Toledo spent two seasons as UCLA offensive coordinator and five as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Texas A&M,

which went 49-12-1 during his stint.

He has served as an assistant at Oregon, Pacific, Southern California and UC-Riverside.
