NORMAN, Okla., Jan. 12 (UPI) -- Hollis Price scored 27 points and Ebi Ere added 25 Saturday as No. 7 Oklahoma rolled to its 12th straight victory with a 98-72 rout of Texas Tech that snapped the Red Raiders' 10-game winning streak.
Texas Tech (13-2, 2-1 Big 12) entered with hopes of a national ranking after piling up nine victories at home in a favorable schedule created by Coach Bob Knight. But the Red Raiders were badly exposed Saturday, as Ere and Price repeatedly took advantage of Tech's inexperienced guards.
Oklahoma (13-1, 2-0) took a 16-4 lead 6:20 into the contest and continued to pour it on, extending to a 50-28 advantage at halftime. Ere scored 20 points in the first half.
The only suspense left in the second half was whether the Sooners would reach the 100-point plateau as their reserves missed several opportunities late in the game. The last time a Knight team allowed 100 points was in a 112-64 loss by Indiana to Michigan on Feb. 22, 1998.
Kasib Powell scored 16 points to lead Texas Tech.
