COLUMBUS, Ohio, Jan. 5 (UPI) -- Brian Brown scored 16 of his 19 points in the second half Saturday night to lead Ohio State to a 72-62 upset over ninth-ranked Iowa.
Brown was just one of four at halftime, but he heated up in the final 20 minutes, connecting on five of seven shots. He also made seven of nine free throws for the game.
Big games against Iowa are nothing new for the senior guard. Entering Saturday's game, Brown was the only starter to average double figures against the Hawkeyes at 10.2 points per game.
Ohio State (9-2, 2-0 Big Ten) led 37-35 with 13:45 left, but went on a 18-7 run to extend the margin to 55-42 with 6:46 to go.
Iowa, which had its six-game winning streak snapped, was led by Reggie Evans' 18 points. But the Hawkeyes (12-4, 1-1) shot just under 42 percent.
