Duke 106, Davidson 71

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Jan. 2 (UPI) -- Carlos Boozer had 23 points and 14 rebounds as the top-ranked Duke Blue Devils buried Davidson, 106-71, Wednesday night for their 2nd straight win despite losing a pair of players to injuries.

Starting forward Mike Dunleavy sprained his right ankle with eight minutes left in the first half and did not return. He began the night second on the team with 17.5 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.

Dunleavy's backup, Dahntay Jones, also left with 7:41 to play and did not return after his right knee gave out in the lane. The injury came just 80 seconds after he threw down an one-handed dunk in the lane.

The status of the two forwards is unknown as Duke gets ready to travel to Florida State on Sunday for the first of five straight Atlantic Coast Conference matchups.

Jones had seven points during an 11-0 run that gave the Blue Devils (12-0) a 43-25 lead with 3:51 left in the first half and enabled them to remain unbeaten since a February 27 loss to Maryland last season.
