Washington 3, Dallas 2 (OT)

DALLAS, Dec. 28 (UPI) -- Washington defenseman Ken Klee scored off a one-handed feed from Jaromir Jagr 2:03 into overtime Friday night, giving the Capitals a 3-2 victory over the Dallas Stars.

Washington lost six of its seven previous trips to Dallas, but Jagr would not be denied. After scoring the go-ahead power-play goal early in the third period, he made a spectacular play to set up the game-winner.

Jagr carried the puck along the left boards and used one arm to ward off 235-pound defenseman Derian Hatcher. With the other arm, he worked the puck in front to Klee, who shoveled a shot from the low slot that just trickled past goaltender Ed Belfour.

It was the third goal of the season, first game-winner and first in 11 games for Klee. It also ended the Capitals' four-game winless streak.

Benoit Hogue and Jon Sim scored for Dallas, which suffered its fourth straight home loss.
