TISCALOOSA, Ala., Dec. 14 (UPI) -- Kenny Walker scored 11 of his 20 points in the first half to lead six players in double figures Friday night as the 21st-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide posted a 99-57 rout of overmatched Jacksonville State.

Alabama (7-2) was still smarting off a 79-57 loss to UCLA last Saturday and could have been looking forward to a matchup with Temple next Tuesday in the Jimmy V Classic.

But the Crimson Tide took care of things early, scoring 20 straight points, for a 23-6 advantage with just under nine minutes left in the first half.

Earnest Shelton scored 17 points and Terrance Meade added 14 points as Alabama shot 56 percent and converted 25-of-37 at the free-throw line.

The Crimson Tide improved to 12-1 against the Gamecocks (1-4) and have won 10 straight in the series, all by at least 20 points.
